Elon Musk has stated that he would back Ron DeSantis for president in the event that he ran for office in 2024 and would be competing against Donald Trump. DeSantis is now the governor of Florida.
When asked in a tweet if he would support DeSantis in 2024, Musk responded with “Yes,” after indicating that he had not found his perfect candidate among the Democratic candidates.
“I would want to see someone rational and moderate win the presidential election in 2024,” I said. In a tweet, Elon Musk said, “I had thought that would be the case with the Biden administration, but have been disappointed thus far.”
After indicating in June of this year that he was still mulling his Republican preference for president but that he was “leaning towards” DeSantis, the remarks made by the entrepreneur are the clearest sign of his political backing. The owner of Twitter has admitted that the company has suffered a “massive” drop in advertising revenue as a result of concerns regarding Musk’s plans for moderating content on the platform, including the fate of banned accounts. Musk has had a tumultuous tenure at Twitter, and the owner of the company has admitted as much.
To “survive the next economic slump,” he has communicated to Twitter’s staff that “approximately half” of the company’s revenue must come from subscriptions in order for Twitter to “succeed.” The most recent set of annual numbers that Twitter released revealed that advertising was responsible for 90 percent of the company’s $5.1 billion in revenues.
