Gun Origin and Violence

gun violence

Guns are exceptionally formidable weapons. They can cause damage, violence and harm. However, they can also be used to defend and protect which can be a good thing. Originally, guns were cannon which is a large weapon that fires compact projectiles with the help of gunpowder. Based on history, gunpowder was invented by alchemists while attempting to make an elixir of immorality. In recent centuries, the use of gunpowder spread to the Arab world, then to other European countries, and finally all over the world. The purpose of gunpowder weapon may not have been recorded but it was not used for crimes like kidnapping, robbery or killing the innocent.

With all the technological breakthroughs, different kinds of guns had been invented. These include rifles, handgun, rifle, pistols and many ore. The frequent modification in firearms had armored military strength for the army to protect the country from terrorist attacks as well as for the police to regulate and uphold the law and order in a society. Now in our modern world, when we talk about guns, the first thing that comes to mind is “Smith and WessonM&P® M2.0™S & Wesson Pistols” because they are the longest firearms brand in the last 164 years. Smith & Wesson Gun shop delivers unmatched superiority through innovative pistols, revolvers, Stribog, rifles and accessories.

Nevertheless, guns are now blooming practically in every community especially in the U.S. Separated by cultural policy and geographic differences, all countries have different rules toward gun ownership and control. In few countries, gun ownership for civilians is easily obtained while some countries are very firm about it. For example in the United States, Americans can buy guns and pistols from U.S firearms makers through website (e.g. M&P BY SMITH&WESSON). For some countries like Japan the gun law is so stringent that even the Japanese shooting team needs to train out of Japan.

Countries like the United States, and Norway have a huge number of civilian owning guns. However, countries such as Canada and Mexico have a strict regulation on firearms in which citizens need to undergo tests to acquire license. Furthermore, countries like United Kingdom and South Korea are so strict on possession of gun ownership license.

Many issues involving the ownership and possession of guns have led to fiery arguments in various communities and states. Questions like “Why do civilians need guns? What if guns fall into the wrong hands?” and “Does the government have the authority to regulate the usage of guns?” have created rhetorical questions to persuade others to defend their position.

In our modern society, there are still different views on whether gun ownership should be legalized or banned in a society. A typical argument is that owning a gun is a must for the reason of protection. On the other hand, the opposition of gun ownership claim that the banning of gun ownership is necessary to lower the level of gun related violence and crimes. But why is gun ownership control such a hot topic for debate? Perhaps because owning a gun has its own pros and cons. Owning a gun is fine as long as you will use it on good purpose for protection. Other than that, it will be useless and dangerous. But with the differences in people’s views and opinions, owning a gun especially by civilians must have proper rules and control to protect also other people.
