The United Kingdom bans TikTok on government-owned devices.
Oliver Dowden, a British minister, announced on Thursday that the government would ban the use of TikTok on government-owned devices, citing the possibility of sensitive data being misused on specific sites.
“We’re transitioning to a system where government devices will only have access to pre-approved third-party applications,” Dowden told legislators.
“We will also ban the usage of TikTok on government-owned smartphones. We will implement this immediately.”
