Tips To A Successful Children's Party

  1. Choose A Theme For The Party

Choosing just the right theme can transform the party into one of the most memorable ones for the kids. It would, however, be advisable to identify an idea all the kids can relate with. If your kid is into movies (most of them are), then identify a movie he/she loves watching, then pick a theme from that. This could be Frozen, Moana, Spider-Man, and Cars, among others. Pick one theme, then start shopping for fancy dress outfits and decorations related to the same. Be sure to include everything from birthday gifts, cake, and even games related to the theme.

You could also choose to hold a seasonal party for the kids as well.  The party can be themed according to the season, say Easter Egg hunt, Christmas, or a Halloween-themed birthday party. Be sure to involve your little one when choosing a theme for their party. It will make him/her feel valued in a unique way.

  1. The Cake

Cakes are the epitome of every birthday party. It would be best if you thus choose the right cake for the occasion. While you could choose a chocolate pillar cake with all the fancy ingredients in it, it needs to be appealing to the kids. You could also take up the challenge and make the cake yourself. We have plenty of cake recipes here that you can try. Be sure your baking skills are up to par if you considering taking on the challenge. Nonetheless, you can still outsource the cake for reduced stress.

The key to a memorable party is choosing a cake every kid, and all the guests will adore. Thanks to the internet, you never have to hunt around for local bakers up to the task.  Many of them have set up shops online, meaning you can make a custom order for the ideal cake from the comfort of your home. The best thing about this is that some of these bakers can produce anything from a cascading cookie cake, magical unicorn cake, Alice in Wonderland cake, etc. and still back the elegance and deliciousness associated with fresh cakes. You can also request the baker to deliver the cake to the venue.

  1. Entertainment and Games

Party games are a welcome idea for all. You can thus decide to bring anything from magicians, clowns, Disney princesses, DJs, and bouncing castles, among other fun items. Hiring an entertainer to help keep the little guests entertained would be a good idea too. Most entertainers charge up to $300 per hour. Just be sure to book him/her in advance to avoid the last-minute rush.

Another idea would be to bring party games into the mix to help keep everyone lively and engaged. This is particularly recommended if looking for a low-key party but full of fun. LED swords and a unicorn light up bubble wand are amazing props for a fantasy party. There are lots of super fun activities and games that the children can take part in and enjoy. A simple search online will give you more ideas on this.

  1. Catering (Food)

These little angles, as well as the adults, need to eat to keep their tummies full. While feeding children during parties is essential, the process is quite straightforward. Sandwiches are a good choice if holding the party at home.  You, however, shouldn’t go for the regular ones, but rather have sandwiches in various fun shapes for the kids to enjoy. It is OK to get creative when making sandwiches and butter rolls. Just make sure there are varieties and enough for everyone.

You also need to be careful when choosing foods for the little guest. You can, however, never go wrong with traditional party foods mixed with the sweet stuff. Be sure to include foods such as breadsticks and dips, mini sausages, mini pizzas, pieces of carrots, cheese cubes, crisps, and pre-cut fruits.  Fairy cakes, biscuits, mini pastries, and chocolate fingers are a must-have in kids’ parties.

A few factors ought to be put into consideration when choosing food to feed the guests. If the party involves pre-teens, for example, it would be wiser to serve burgers and pizzas instead of the finger sausages and such. You might also want to consider individuals with special diet plans, such as vegetarians. Find out what the guests prefer and if any of them has any allergies before serving.

For parties meant for a toddler, you might want to include their parents in the meal plan as well.  Nevertheless, serving tea or coffee with a piece of cake always does the trick.

  1. Drinks

While drinks are essential in every party, you need to be mindful of the drinks you make available. Consider bringing in bottled water, juice boxes, and other fresh drinks.  Drinks loaded with sugars, such as fizzy drinks, should be avoided and especially when dealing with little children. No parent would want to deal with the sugar rush after the party.

  1. Involve Older Guests

Organizing a kid’s party is never an easy thing. It is even harder to keep watch of all the children there, which is why you should consider including older guests at the party. This could be a few of the children’s parents and older friends. Having a parent oversee a party game, and another take care of jackets and coats will make the whole process much smoother and less stressful.

  1. Avail Party Bags

Make available gifts for all the kids to take home with them.  This can be anything from plastic toys, sweets, biscuits, and even a piece of the cake wrapped in a small plastic bag.  Get creative and make some unique gifts for all the little guests attending the party. You could also take it a notch higher by creating name tags on the party bags for all as well. The personalized touch makes the party exceptional and something they will recall for a long time. While you can do this in a DIY, you could still haul lots of presents, writing books, stickers, and even coloring pencils from the local supermarket.
