Who is wrinkles the Clown? A fun filled comedy starring Jim Carrey as a leprechaun named Slam Dunk and featuring the talents of Dabney Coleman, Kevin Dunn, Denholm Elliott, and Rosemary Clooney. Some say that it’s a farcical premise but I can assure you it isn’t. This movie has a lot of heart and a lot of laughs.
When two goons (nicknamed Redneckmen) attack the newlyweds, they try to rob them blind. However, before they could complete their robbery, they get stopped by the local police. One of them is wielding a toy knife and threatens to kill the couple unless they pay him for it. Redneck man tells them that if they say anything else to the press that they will kill them.
Redneck man then decides to tell the local paper what really happened so that he can get paid. As a result, the local paper writes a story about the robbers being impersonated clowns and that the robbers later turned themselves in. The next day, after overhearing a conversation between a police officer and a woman who is interviewing an individual, the clown realizes he’s caught the culprits. He decides to get the couple on the stand, put a knife to their necks, and ask them questions about whether or not they know that their husbands are impersonating clowns.
When asked if they know that their husbands are clowns, the woman tells the officer “Yeh, I know. They’re just… rednecks?” The officer then goes to arrest them on the spot.
While waiting on the bench in court, the clown notices an attractive young lady sitting in the audience. He approaches her and whispers that she’s watching them, so she walks over to where the couple is sitting. Suddenly the redneck jumps on the woman and starts squeezing her, much to her discomfort. When questioned by the policeman, the redneck claims that he’s just trying to be nice to the girl.
The old man suddenly gets up from his seat and walks toward the girl. As he tries to place a hand on her face, she shoves him away, but he continues to push her without saying anything. She then stands up and points at him with her finger. He immediately backs off, scared stiff, and starts to tremble. The woman tells the policeman that she will give him $200 if he lets her see his face tomorrow.
The dentist comes in at the last minute. He checks the man’s teeth and then asks him why he was on his hands and knees just before the doctor. The man tells him that he had gotten scared and that the woman was squeezing him. The dentist tells them both to calm down and take some time before the examination is conducted.
After the examination is over, the woman takes off her glasses and stands beside the man. She then begins to ask him about his life. He tells her that he works as a clown but that he doesn’t really do anything else. Then suddenly, she notices a spot on one of his cheeks. She leaves him there for who is wrinkles the clown to find.
The next day, the clown walks out of the clinic. When he gets close to the couple, he realizes that he doesn’t know them. They don’t recognize him. They call out to him, but he doesn’t know them either. They then notice a trail of razors leading from his neck to his butt. The redneck male then informs the woman of what he has done, which makes her angry.
The couple goes back to their home. As they walk in the door, the redneck man asks them if they know what he looks like. She tells him that he looks like an old redneck but that he isn’t and he should look it up. They then continue their walk until they reach the front porch where the man reveals to them that he is actually a clown.
Who is Wrinkles the Clown is based on a true story of love and friendship that was told by Bill Clinton. The movie will make you laugh and feel for the couple. It’s a light-hearted comedy that’s sure to keep you in stitches. Movie updates and rumors have no place in this fantastic comedy.
