CNN’s chief data analyst, Harry Enten, recently shared insights about the impact of the Jeffrey Epstein case on President Donald Trump’s political standing. During a segment with anchor Kate Bolduan, Enten pointed out that efforts by Democrats and the media to link Trump to Epstein’s controversial past are not resonating with the public.
Enten highlighted that interest in the Epstein saga is waning. He noted that Google searches for Epstein have dropped by 89% in just three weeks. This decline indicates that the story is losing traction and is no longer a major concern for many Americans. “This is turning into a dud of a story,” he remarked.
When discussing Trump’s approval ratings, Enten revealed that they have remained stable. As of July 2025, Trump’s approval rating was at 44%, only slightly lower than the 45% recorded earlier that month. This is a notable increase compared to his approval rating of 37% during the same period in his first term. Among Republicans, his support is particularly strong, hovering around 90%.
Enten emphasized that despite the ongoing scrutiny related to Epstein, Trump has not lost support among his base. He is maintaining his position with the center of the electorate as well. For now, the Epstein case appears to be a minor issue in the broader political landscape, failing to significantly affect Trump’s standing.
