Trump shared on social media that February marked the lowest month for illegal immigrants attempting to enter the country, with only 8,326 apprehensions by Border Patrol at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Under Trump’s administration, those apprehended were promptly removed from the nation or prosecuted for crimes against the United States. This stark contrasted with the previous administration, as highlighted by Trump, where there were instances of 300,000 illegal crossings in a single month, with most individuals being released into the country.
To reinforce border security, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced the deployment of a Stryker Brigade Combat Team and General Support Aviation Battalion to achieve "100% operational control" of the border. This move aimed to seal the border and safeguard the territorial integrity of the United States, a priority set by President Trump.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem echoed the administration’s firm stance on illegal immigration, stating that those attempting to enter the country unlawfully would be found, arrested, and sent back. She commended President Trump for his leadership and praised the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers and agents for their efforts in maintaining national security.
