Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have arrived in Florida after a travel ban in Romania was lifted. They landed in Fort Lauderdale around 11:30 a.m. local time on a private plane. Their representative, Mateea Petrescu, confirmed their arrival.
Speaking to reporters shortly after landing, Andrew Tate emphasized that they have never been convicted of any crimes. He stated that their case was dismissed in Romania last December and that prosecutors recently allowed them to leave the country since there were no active charges against them.
The Tates, who have dual citizenship in the UK and the US, are currently facing serious allegations in Romania, including human trafficking, sexual misconduct, and money laundering. Despite these charges, they maintain their innocence and argue that they should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Their return to the US has raised eyebrows, especially after reports suggested that the Trump administration may have influenced Romanian authorities to ease restrictions on them. Romanian Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu mentioned that the Tates were discussed during a meeting between Trump’s special envoy and Romanian officials.
When asked about the Tates’ arrival, President Trump claimed he knew nothing about their situation. He expressed surprise when informed that they were on a plane to the US.
Romanian prosecutors had approved Andrew Tate’s request to travel outside the country, but they still require him and his brother to check in with judicial authorities regularly. They were previously under house arrest and could not leave Romania.
In addition to their legal troubles in Romania, the Tates are also facing investigations in the UK and civil lawsuits in the US. Recently, a lawsuit in Florida accused them of coercing a woman into sex work and defaming her after she testified against them in Romania.
The Tates have a significant following on social media, where their controversial views, often deemed misogynistic, have sparked widespread criticism. They gained notoriety after Andrew appeared on the UK version of Big Brother in 2016.
Their arrival in the US has prompted concern from alleged victims in the UK, who fear that this development could hinder their ongoing legal battles. They expressed worries about possible intimidation from the Tates and the potential for them to continue spreading harmful ideologies.
As the situation unfolds, many are watching closely to see how the legal challenges will progress for the Tate brothers, both in Romania and beyond.
