Dodgers Kiké Hernández Recalls the Time He Had an Accident During the 2020 Playoffs: "It Was a Different Walk Than Usual"

Kiké Hernández, the outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, recently shared a humorous yet embarrassing story from a playoff game in 2020. During an appearance on Kevin Hart’s podcast, "Cold as Balls," Hernández recounted how he unknowingly had an accident while playing, a situation that arose due to side effects from an antibiotic he was taking for a dental issue.

Hernández was serving as the designated hitter in a game when he felt the need to celebrate after his teammate, Dustin May, struck out an opponent. In the excitement, he exclaimed, "F–k yeah!" and thought he had simply passed gas. However, as he walked up to bat, he realized something was off. He described his walk as feeling different, and he tried to focus on the upcoming at-bat.

Despite the discomfort, Hernández struck out in three pitches. He later joked that he had never been happier to strike out in his life, relieved that the at-bat was over.

While he didn’t specify which playoff game the incident occurred in, Hernández had previously shared the story in a social media video in 2023, providing further context to the amusing anecdote.

This incident took place during the 2020 playoffs while he was a member of the Dodgers. Hernández has enjoyed a successful 12-season career in Major League Baseball, primarily with the Dodgers but also with the Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros, and Miami Marlins. He has been part of two World Series-winning teams with the Dodgers, first in 2020 and again in 2024.

As of this season, Hernández has been hitting .229 for the Dodgers, continuing to contribute to the team’s efforts on the field.
