EasyJet Cabin Crew in Spain Set to Strike

EasyJet cabin crews in Spain are set to strike for three days next week over pay issues. The USO union announced that the strike will take place from Wednesday, June 25, to Friday, June 27. This action could involve more than 650 flight attendants based in cities like Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga, and Palma de Mallorca.

The union claims that EasyJet crews in Spain earn significantly less than their colleagues in other European countries. They are striking to push for better working and wage conditions that align with those at other EasyJet bases across Europe.

Despite the planned strike, EasyJet has stated that it intends to operate as usual and minimize any disruptions. A spokesperson for the airline emphasized their commitment to maintaining service and noted that they employ crews in eight different countries, each under local terms and conditions.

In Spain, regulations require airline workers to provide a minimum level of service during strikes, which is aimed at reducing the impact on travelers. As the situation develops, it remains to be seen how many flights will be affected and how EasyJet will manage the strike’s impact on operations.
