Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler of ‘Snow White’ at Odds Over Israel-Palestine Conflict, Creating Tension Between Them

Tensions are reportedly rising between Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, the stars of Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of "Snow White." According to sources, the two actresses have little in common, which has made it difficult for them to connect. Zegler, who is 23 and considered a rising star, contrasts sharply with Gadot, 39, a seasoned actress and mother of four. Their differing lifestyles and political views are said to be contributing to the tension.

The two actresses have publicly expressed their opinions on the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, but from very different perspectives. Zegler recently posted "Free Palestine" on social media after the release of the film’s first trailer, while Gadot, an Israeli, has condemned the violence against her country following the attacks by Hamas on October 7, 2023. This divergence in political beliefs has only added to the strain between them.

Zegler has also stirred controversy by calling the original "Snow White" story outdated, a comment that Gadot reportedly found perplexing. Sources indicate that Gadot believes one should not create drama about a project they are part of, which has left her confused about Zegler’s remarks.

The film, set to release on March 21, has already faced backlash even before its debut. Disney decided to change the portrayal of dwarf characters to avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original 1937 film, which has drawn criticism from fans who feel the company is being overly politically correct. Actor Peter Dinklage, who has dwarfism, also voiced his disapproval, questioning the decision to keep the story of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" while casting a Latina actress in the lead role.

In addition to the film’s controversies, Zegler has faced backlash from some Disney fans after she criticized supporters of former President Donald Trump. This has led to calls for a boycott of the movie, with some expressing their desire for it to fail at the box office.

Despite the surrounding drama, Gadot is urging fans to give the film a chance. When asked if people should watch "Snow White," she expressed confidence in the movie’s quality, stating, "Of course — it’s a great movie."

With the premiere approaching, Disney has reportedly opted for a more subdued event, limiting attendance to photographers and an in-house crew, likely due to the ongoing controversies.
