Man Spreads Wifes Ashes as Her Final Wish Among Air India Victims

Tributes are pouring in for the victims of the tragic Air India plane crash that occurred shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad airport. Flight 171, bound for Gatwick, was carrying 242 people when it crashed into a medical college hostel, resulting in the loss of 241 lives. The only survivor is a British man from Leicester.

Among the deceased were families, including a couple and their three children, and a man returning home after scattering his wife’s ashes in India. Arjun Patoliya, 37, was on his way back to his daughters in London after fulfilling his late wife Bharti’s wish to have her ashes scattered in her hometown.

Dr. Prateek Joshi, a radiologist, was traveling with his wife, Dr. Komi Vyas, and their three children. The Derby Hindu Temple expressed their condolences, praying for peace for the departed souls and strength for their grieving family. Dr. Joshi’s colleague described him as a passionate and respected professional, leaving a significant void in both his personal and professional circles.

Another family lost in the crash was Akeel Nanabawa, his wife Hannaa Vorajee, and their four-year-old daughter, Sara. The imam of their local mosque spoke highly of the family, noting their kindness and the bright spirit of their daughter, who had just started school.

Mariam and Javed Ali Syed were also on the flight with their two young children, Zayn and Amani. They were returning from a holiday in India. Family members expressed their heartbreak over the loss of the young children, who were just five and four years old.

Renjitha Gopakumaran Nair, a nurse from Portsmouth, was remembered for her compassion and care for others. Her passing has deeply affected her colleagues and community. Ajay Kumar Ramesh was also on the flight, seated away from his brother Vishwash, who miraculously survived.

Raxa Modha, who was in India for a religious ceremony after her husband’s death, was traveling with her daughter-in-law and infant grandson. They were also victims of this devastating incident.

The crash has left families shattered and communities mourning. The loss of life, particularly among young children and families, has hit hard. As investigations continue, the focus remains on honoring those who lost their lives and supporting the survivors and their families during this incredibly difficult time.
