Pete Alonso and his wife, Haley Walsh, are excited to share that they are expecting their first child. The couple made the announcement on Saturday morning through heartfelt photos on Instagram, showcasing several ultrasound images. In her post, Walsh wrote, “baby alonso 2025 🤍 we can’t wait for this next chapter of becoming mom and dad.”
The couple looked radiant in the photos, with Walsh wearing a beautiful white dress and Alonso in casual black attire. The backdrop appeared to be a sunny spot in Florida, complete with palm trees and water, adding to the joyful atmosphere of their announcement.
Alonso and Walsh have been together since 2015. They met while Alonso was playing summer baseball in the Cape Cod League during his time at the University of Florida. At that time, Walsh was a student at Michigan State University. They maintained a long-distance relationship until they both graduated.
In November 2018, Alonso proposed, and they tied the knot in 2021 in Tampa, Florida. As Alonso prepares for the upcoming baseball season, he will not only be focused on his performance but also on embracing fatherhood.
The New York Mets first baseman recently signed a two-year, $54 million contract with the team, which includes an opt-out after the 2025 season. Alonso is off to a strong start this season, hitting .292 with three home runs and 10 RBIs in the first seven games. He is also on track to break the Mets’ all-time home run record, currently held by Darryl Strawberry.
With their exciting news and Alonso’s promising start to the season, the couple is looking forward to what lies ahead as they prepare to welcome their little one into the world.
