Mount Everest Guide Sets New Record with 31st Summit Achievement

Kami Rita, a seasoned Sherpa guide, has made history by reaching the summit of Mount Everest for the 31st time, surpassing his own previous record. This remarkable achievement took place on Tuesday, as he successfully guided a group of climbers to the top of the world’s highest peak, which stands at 8,849 meters.

Kami Rita first conquered Everest back in 1994. Since then, he has become a prominent figure in the climbing community, known for his skill and expertise. At 55 years old, he shows no signs of slowing down. Before this latest ascent, he hinted at the possibility of climbing Everest again for a 32nd time, having completed two successful climbs last year.

The climb was organized by Seven Summits Treks, based in Kathmandu. They reported that Kami and his clients reached the summit in the early morning hours, taking advantage of the favorable weather conditions typical for this time of year. Most climbers attempt to summit Everest in April and May when the weather is generally more stable.

Kami Rita is not alone in his achievements. Another Sherpa guide, Pasang Dawa, is close behind with 29 successful ascents of Everest. The skills of Sherpa guides like Kami Rita are essential for the safety and success of climbers from around the world who dream of standing atop Everest.

In addition to Everest, Kami has also scaled some of the other highest peaks in the world, including K2, Cho Oyu, Manaslu, and Lhotse. His extensive experience and knowledge of the mountains make him a crucial asset in the climbing community.

Everest was first summited in 1953 by New Zealander Edmund Hillary and Nepali Sherpa Tenzing Norgay. Since then, it has become a popular destination for climbers, and Sherpas have played a vital role in supporting these expeditions. As Kami Rita continues to break records, he embodies the spirit and resilience of those who climb the world’s highest mountains.
