"Netanyahu Explains Decision to Target Iran in First Interview Following Rising Lion Operation"

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made a strong statement about Iran, saying he will not allow the country to pose a threat to Israel or the world. In a recent interview with Fox News, he emphasized that Iran’s actions, particularly its uranium enrichment and missile development, represent an "existential threat" to Israel.

Netanyahu explained that Israel has taken action against Iran not just for its own safety, but to protect the global community from what he described as a dangerous regime. He stated, “We can’t have the world’s most dangerous regime have the world’s most dangerous weapons.” His comments come amid rising tensions and ongoing military operations by Israel targeting Iranian military capabilities.

Since the start of Israel’s “Operation Rising Lion,” aimed at crippling Iran’s military and nuclear potential, there have been significant exchanges of fire. The Israeli government reported that Iran has launched 270 missiles at Israel, resulting in the deaths of 13 people, including three children, and leaving hundreds injured.

Netanyahu pointed out that intelligence gathered by Israel indicates Iran could weaponize its uranium and develop a nuclear weapon within a year. He warned that Iran has enough enriched uranium for up to nine bombs and is potentially planning to share these weapons with allied groups like the Houthis in Yemen. He expressed deep concern, stating, “Once they go that route, it’s too late. We will have a second Holocaust—a nuclear Holocaust.”

In a series of military strikes, Israel has reportedly eliminated several key figures in Iran’s military leadership, including its chief intelligence officer. Netanyahu mentioned that these operations were coordinated with U.S. President Donald Trump, reflecting a united front on the issue of Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Despite the challenges posed by Iran’s underground nuclear sites, Netanyahu expressed confidence in Israel’s military capabilities, stating that the Israeli Defense Forces have effectively neutralized Iranian air defenses, allowing for unhindered access to Tehran. He also noted that no Israeli fighter jets have been shot down during these operations.

Netanyahu had previously given Iran a chance to negotiate a nuclear deal but felt that the talks were unproductive. He believes that the current military actions are necessary to ensure the safety of Israel and the broader world.
