The Nets managed to close the gap to just two points with a long three-pointer from Cam Thomas, who finished with 23 points and seven assists. However, they couldn’t complete the comeback.
Cam Johnson led the Nets in scoring with 26 points, while Nic Claxton had a noteworthy game with eight points, nine rebounds, and a career-high 10 assists. Despite their efforts, the loss left the Nets with a record of 21-41, three games behind Chicago for the final play-in spot in the Eastern Conference. On the bright side, they remained competitive in the lottery standings, tied for sixth with Philadelphia and just one game behind Toronto.
