Ohio Polygamist Accused of Plotting Kidnapping and Torture of Man as Part of Disturbing Revenge Scheme Involving Husband and Four Lovers

A shocking case of kidnapping and torture has emerged from Ohio, where a woman, her husband, and four men were arrested for allegedly holding a 26-year-old man captive for a week. The incident took place at a Red Roof Inn in Maumee, and police say it was part of a revenge plot orchestrated by the group’s leader, 28-year-old Martina Jones.

The arrests occurred on March 22, following a week of horrific abuse inflicted on the victim. According to the authorities, the group brutally assaulted him with a metal baseball bat, punched, kicked, and forced him to stand for long periods. He was only allowed to eat and drink once a day, and during his captivity, he managed to sleep for just ten hours. The injuries he sustained included multiple fractures, as detailed by Maumee Chief of Police Josh Sprow.

The disturbing events began on March 14, when a dog fight broke out at Jones’s home. While trying to break up the fight, Jones reportedly broke her arm. However, she falsely told her partners that the victim was responsible for her injury. This led her to plot revenge against him, compelling her four lovers—Michael Esqueda, Aaron Bradshaw, Austin Bradshaw, David Cessna, and Chance Johnston—to kidnap and torture the man.

The victim’s ordeal came to an end on March 21 when he was allowed to leave the hotel to go to a nearby convenience store. There, he managed to communicate with a stranger, who called his mother for help. She quickly arrived at the scene and rescued him, finding him in a terrible state, covered in injuries.

Police noted that this case is particularly unusual, given the dynamics of the relationships involved. The six suspects have been charged with kidnapping, multiple counts of felonious assault, and tampering with evidence. Each of them is currently being held on a $200,000 bond.

This alarming situation has raised concerns within the community, as it is not something that typically occurs in Maumee. The investigation continues as authorities work to understand the full extent of this troubling case.
