Porsha Williams Former Partner Simon Guobadia Taken into Custody by ICE During Widespread Deportations: Report

Porsha Williams’ estranged husband, Simon Guobadia, has been detained by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia. The 60-year-old Nigerian-born businessman was taken into custody amid heightened immigration enforcement measures under President Trump’s administration, which has recently intensified deportation efforts.

Guobadia’s immigration issues date back to the mid-1980s. He migrated to the United States in 1982 but was declared deportable in 1985 after allegedly overstaying his visa. Although he faced deportation in 1992 due to multiple arrests, including bank and credit card fraud, he returned to the U.S. shortly thereafter. In 2016, he sought U.S. citizenship but was denied due to his previous immigration status being classified as “unlawfully granted.” Despite filing several appeals and complaints to gain naturalization, his attempts have not yielded success.

Williams, who is 43 years old and known for her role on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," took to Instagram to express her feelings regarding Guobadia’s detainment. She described the situation as "disheartening" and emphasized her focus on moving forward with her family during this challenging time. Their relationship has been tumultuous; the couple married in November 2022 after a whirlwind romance that began with a public proposal just months prior. However, Williams filed for divorce in February 2024 after only a year of marriage.

As Guobadia remains in ICE custody, the implications of his legal situation continue to unfold, drawing public attention not only to his personal circumstances but also to broader issues surrounding immigration policy and enforcement in the United States.
