Rubio Claims Iran Attempted to Manipulate Trump

Iran’s recent actions have drawn sharp criticism from U.S. officials, particularly Secretary of State Marco Rubio. During an appearance on Fox News, Rubio stated that Iran attempted to manipulate former President Donald Trump, which ultimately led to U.S. military strikes on three of Iran’s nuclear facilities over the weekend.

Rubio explained that Trump had previously reached out to Iran with a letter, making it clear that the U.S. would not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons. He expressed a desire for peaceful negotiations. However, Rubio claimed that Iran did not take the situation seriously and tried to play games, a tactic they have used with U.S. presidents for decades. He emphasized that Trump’s decision to take military action was a response to Iran’s failure to engage in good faith negotiations.

The strikes, according to Rubio, have made the world "safer" and "more stable." He suggested that many countries, while publicly condemning the U.S. actions, actually support the decision behind closed doors. Rubio pointed out that the only group unhappy with the strikes is the Iranian regime itself.

In his remarks, Rubio highlighted the U.S. military presence in the Middle East, mentioning bases in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. He asserted that these bases are crucial for protecting these nations from Iran and its network of proxy groups, which he claims are responsible for much of the instability in the region.

Rubio also stressed the dangers of Iran potentially acquiring nuclear weapons. He warned that even one nuclear weapon in the hands of Iran would pose a significant threat to global security. He concluded by stating that Trump’s actions were a necessary step to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power.
