Shooting Suspect Wanted for Girlfriends Murder in NYC Takes His Own Life as Police Approach, Sources Say

A tragic incident unfolded in the Bronx this week, leading to the death of a woman and the suspected shooter. Shannon Graham, 35, was wanted for the fatal shooting of his girlfriend, Jessica Hoyle, 31, inside her home on Mickle Avenue. The shooting occurred around 11 p.m. on Tuesday night, and emergency services were called shortly after.

Hoyle’s mother, who lives in the same building and uses a wheelchair, heard the couple arguing throughout the day. When she heard a loud bang, she called 911 because she could not go upstairs to check on them. Upon arrival, police found Hoyle unconscious with a gunshot wound to the head. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

After the shooting, Graham fled and barricaded himself in a home on Pratt Avenue in Eastchester. The NYPD’s Warrants and Fugitive Task Force tracked his phone and located him there on Thursday afternoon. When officers forced their way inside, they found Graham with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to Jacobi Medical Center but was declared dead later that evening.

This heartbreaking situation has left many in the community shaken. The investigation is ongoing, and police are continuing to gather information about the events leading up to the shooting. If anyone is struggling with mental health issues, resources are available, including a crisis hotline for support.
