Tragic Arizona Collision Claims 6 Lives and Injures 13

An investigation is ongoing in Arizona following a tragic multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 that resulted in the loss of at least six lives and left over a dozen individuals injured. The incident took place just before 1 p.m. local time on Saturday near milepost 89 on I-10 eastbound, west of Tonopah.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that the crash involved multiple tractor-trailers and passenger vehicles, some of which caught fire in the aftermath. Initially, authorities stated that four people had died, but the toll was later updated to six. Additionally, 13 individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

While the westbound lanes have since been reopened, the eastbound lanes remain closed with no estimated time for when they will resume normal operations. The National Weather Service office in Phoenix had issued Dust Storm Warnings in the region around the time of the crash, though it is currently unclear if this weather event played a role in the incident.

Authorities have indicated that more information will be provided as the investigation progresses, with updates expected to be shared later on Sunday. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
