Trump Administration Revamps Bidens CBP One App: Depart Immediately and Self-Deport

The Trump administration has made a significant change to a mobile app that was originally designed to help migrants enter the United States. The app, previously known as the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) One app, is now being revamped and renamed the CBP Home app. This new version aims to encourage undocumented immigrants to voluntarily leave the U.S. and return to their home countries.

During the Biden administration, the CBP One app was used by many migrants to schedule appointments for entry into the U.S. However, under President Trump, the app will now allow users to express their intent to depart the country and confirm their departure. This change means that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) can track those who use the app and ensure they leave.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem criticized the previous administration, claiming that the CBP One app allowed over a million people to enter the country illegally. She stated that the new CBP Home app is part of an effort to restore order to the immigration system. Noem emphasized that the app provides an option for migrants to leave voluntarily, which could allow them the chance to return legally in the future.

On his first day back in office, Trump halted the Biden administration’s version of the app and froze parole applications. He also instructed Immigration and Customs Enforcement to revoke the parole statuses of certain migrants. The introduction of the CBP Home app is part of a broader strategy by the Trump administration to deter illegal border crossings and manage the presence of undocumented immigrants in the U.S.

As part of this initiative, Noem announced a nationwide ad campaign aimed at warning undocumented individuals to leave the country or face deportation. She made it clear that those who enter the U.S. illegally will be pursued and removed.

In just the first 18 days of Trump’s new term, the administration reported deporting 11,000 illegal aliens. Additionally, the Department of Defense is preparing Guantanamo Bay to potentially house many criminal illegal alien detainees. This move reflects the administration’s firm stance on immigration enforcement and its commitment to reducing illegal immigration.
