Two Women Dead and Two Children Injured in Cork Collision

Two women lost their lives in a tragic car accident in County Cork, Ireland, on Sunday afternoon. The crash involved two vehicles and occurred around 3:30 PM on the N72 at Navigation Road in Mallow.

The deceased women were the drivers of the cars: one in her 60s and the other in her 40s. Emergency responders arrived at the scene but were unable to save them.

In addition to the fatalities, two children, a boy and a girl, were passengers in the car driven by the younger woman. They were taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, their injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to local authorities.

A post-mortem examination for the two women is scheduled to take place at the hospital mortuary. Meanwhile, the road remains closed as forensic investigators examine the scene. Local diversions are in effect to manage traffic in the area.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant footage to come forward to assist with the investigation.
