Tulsi Gabbards Approach to Reforming the Corrupted Intelligence Community

In April, Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, launched a new task force called the Director’s Initiatives Group (DIG). This group aims to bring transparency and accountability back to the U.S. Intelligence Community. Gabbard’s team believes that the current system has been misused and is focused on fixing these issues.

DIG’s main job is to implement President Donald Trump’s executive orders related to intelligence. An official from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) stated that the task force includes top experts from various intelligence agencies. So far, DIG has uncovered how the Biden administration allegedly used the intelligence community to target political opponents through its “Domestic Violent Extremism agenda.” They have released previously classified documents to support these claims.

Additionally, DIG has taken action against employees within the intelligence community who were found to be pushing their own ideologies. They have revoked security clearances for 51 individuals who signed a letter about Hunter Biden, as well as for notable figures like Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Hillary Clinton.

The task force is also working to declassify documents related to the assassinations of prominent figures such as John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr. Moreover, they are planning changes within the intelligence community to reduce waste and save money.

Gabbard’s team sees the strong pushback they are receiving as a sign that they are on the right path to reforming the intelligence community. Looking ahead, DIG intends to investigate past intelligence assessments regarding election infrastructure vulnerabilities from the 2020 and 2022 elections. They plan to conduct forensic analyses to uncover any weaknesses in the election system.

DIG will also interview whistleblowers who have information about the politicization of intelligence, including issues like the Russian Collusion hoax and the Hunter Biden laptop controversy. The task force aims to understand how the intelligence community has failed in these areas and to hold accountable those responsible.

Another focus will be on how the Biden administration labeled certain groups as “domestic terrorists.” DIG wants to help the public understand how the security state was used against political dissidents. They will also look into connections between the intelligence community and the tech sector regarding free speech restrictions.

The task force includes members from the ODNI, CIA, NSA, FBI, and the Defense Department, all of whom have top security clearances. They are required to take polygraphs regularly. This initiative is backed by a legal framework that mandates the intelligence community to provide objective and timely information.

Under Gabbard’s leadership, officials in the intelligence community can expect closer scrutiny of their work. The goal is to ensure that intelligence gathering and analysis remain unbiased and compliant with the law. As DIG continues its work, more updates on their findings and initiatives are expected in the future.
